Buttons encompasses a heavy sexual innuendo as many of their songs, captures a strong sexual undertone. In this particular song, the protagonist teases her intended male to “loosen her buttons”, take off her clothes. It’s suggestive and leaves more for listeners to phantom/fantasize what comes next after the steamy rendition of the first few verses.

Song continues to portray the protagonist “asking for more” hungry for sexual favors from her male intend who plays coy and doesn’t accede to her request of “loosing up her buttons” and she goes on repeating the catchy-sexually charged chorus. This subconsciously hones the listener’s curiosity to what will happen in the end and plume them into a state of arouser.

The rendezvous nature of both flirting parties that still stays at bay until the male takes on a higher level of ecstasy, which in this song, does not happen, leaving listeners in groaning in agony.

The starting exotic tune of Chinese cymbals and Arabian electronics brings in the image of a sexy belly dancer and pumps up the adrenaline as the female voices sing in unison to tease the male intended.

Arabian humming sounds like a snake charming and tempting the listeners; topped with beat drums and eastern music takes us into another realm of charm and chime.

Draped with dark contours of a chanting style sultry female voice and popular sexual reference to their dancing images; even their name suggests sexual intent (PUSSY cat dolls), leaves the imagination to listeners with their moans (… do to me uh-huh), of groans and pleas (what you going to do to me); to total submission of body to male counterpart.

Coupled with its sizzling sinuous lyrics repeating the action of unbuttoning a woman’s clothes, tantalizingly escalates desire over desire.
